An opposition is a proceeding in which one party seeks to prevent registration of another party’s trademark. Under the law, if a party believes that they will be damaged by the registration of a mark, they can file an opposition. An attorney can represent you in an opposition proceeding to prevent third-party trademark applications from registration to preserve your trademark rights.
For a retainer fee of $5,000 an attorney can represent you in an opposition proceeding. In addition, an attorney will provide you with a consultation to discuss your case.
